Detrital Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb Ages of the North Liaohe Group from the Lianshanguan Area, NE China: Implications for the Tectonic Evolution of the Paleoproterozoic Jiao-Liao-Ji Belt

The Liaohe Group, which is a significant lithostratigraphic unit within the Paleoproterozoic Jiao-Liao-Ji Belt situated between Longgang and Liaonan-Nangrim blocks, comprises Langzishan, Li’eryu, Gaojiayu, Dashiqiao, Gaixian formations, are characterized mainly by clastic-rich sequence with an interlayered bimodal-volcanic sequence, carbonate-rich (meta-)pelite-rich sequence. Currently, tectonic background evolution of Group remain contentious. Based on study detrital zircon geochronology trace element characteristics in Langzishan Li’eryu formations North Lianshanguan area, NE China, this paper reveals formations’ provenances, depositional ages, relationships granitoids (the Liao-Ji granites). present results, conjunction previous studies, indicate that age Formation 2136 Ma 1974 Ma. provenances Neoarchean-to-early-Paleoproterozoic basement rocks (~2.6–2.4 Ga) granites (~2.2–2.0 Ga), respectively. Moreover, coeval mafic metasedimentary exhibit extensional environment, represented setting back-arc basin. Notably, Upper records prominent shift sedimentary environment from passive continental margin to active margin. In terms Belt, our proposed model suggests Archean northern part block, along limited contribution granites, served as primary sources for Formation. Subsequently, rapid deposition was influenced intense magmatism subsequent erosion subduction-related magmatic arc granites) basin environment. Lastly, clastic materials blocks resulted formation formations.
